About This Blog

I had no idea where I was going with this blog when I started it. I only knew that I wanted it to be positive - not one word of negativity!

There are bad things going on around us continually. It only brings us down to talk about them all the time; yet some people seem to enjoy hashing and rehashing the worst news of the day.  I'm not saying we should ignore the problems of the world. If we can help, then, by all means, we should do what we can. But sitting back doing nothing but whining and complaining doesn't help. In fact, it makes matters worse by causing everyone around us to be as miserable as we are. If I'm feeling down, I don't go looking for someone who is consistently cross and negative. I want to be with someone who is always smiling and speaking words of encouragement. Someone who sees the glass half full.

Abe Lincoln said, "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." I believe that's true. Our thinking seems to dictate how we live our lives. Good thoughts make us happy. Bad thoughts, just the opposite.

It's also important to "live in the moment." The best selling book of all time, the Bible, says in Matthew 6:34 - "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of it's own."

And so... just for today - I have decided to spread as much joy as possible.

Prayer:  Help us, O Lord, to live for this day, this hour, this moment.  Amen.
